In these days of fast-rising prices and job insecurity, it seems that everyone needs extra cash – either to see them through to the next pay day, or to be able to afford those little extras that make life much more fun, like a fun outing for the kids or a visit to a favourite restaurant. Whatever it is you desire, there are ways to top up a diminishing bank balance, even if you already have a full-time job.
Most people already have a home computer and this offers many options to earn some extra spending money. All you have to do is do a search for the area of your interest, and numerous sites to choose from will appear. It is then up to you to decide which of the options offered best suit your lifestyle and interests.
1. Sell Photos Online
One of the easiest is to sell your photographs online. If you enjoy photography and have some good pictures of, for example, holiday locations, then there are businesses and publishers in cyberspace which would be willing to buy them. All you need to do is upload them to a stock photography site. When one of your photos is purchased, you will be paid a percentage. The same photos can be sold over and over again, generating a quick income. Note that some of these sites will ask to see some examples before they accept your pictures.
2. Fill Online Surveys
Another easy option is to fill in online surveys. There are many companies who use the internet to find out what people the world over think about their products, so there are many sites to visit to see which are the most suitable. Some charge a small fee to register, while others do not. You will be paid for each survey you complete, so the more you fill in, the greater your earning potential.
If you have a specific forte and think you have the ability to teach, there are sites where you may register to become a tutor. There are many niches available for people to give extra lessons in, for example, maths, science and languages. You do not even have to be a qualified teacher, and you will be helping school children to earn higher grades, or improve the language skills of foreigners.
3. Play Games
Finally, there is one more novel idea from the computer income generating sites. Believe it or not, there are even sites which offer payment for people to play their games online, so you will be able to have fun while earning. There is a site called secondlife.com; a virtual world where characters can earn money. Although the money is virtual money, there is an exchange rate that will let you change it to REAL money.
There are also options for those of you who do not own a computer, but you will still need access to the internet in order to find the sites offering the following ways of earning extra money in your spare time.
4. Be a Mystery Shopper
You can become a mystery shopper, where you will be required to visit stores and restaurants, for example, to evaluate the products and services offered. Once you have written and delivered your report, you will not only be reimbursed for what you have spent, but will also be paid for the feedback. Clearly, you will have to be very specific and fair in your reporting, but once you have built up a good reputation with the job provider, the work will be continuous and a good income will be generated – and who doesn’t love shopping and eating in restaurants, especially at someone else’s expense?
5. Advertise on Your car
There are also businesses which will pay you a monthly fee to advertise their products on your car. This is perhaps the easiest of all the options, as all you have to do is take your car to them to have the advertising applied and then continue to use your car as usual – but bear in mind that these companies will want to advertise on cars that are always on the move, as there will be no advantage or profit for them if, for example, you only take your car out on weekends. search google for “advertise on your car” and you will get a ton of hits.
6. Blog til You Drop
There are sites that will pay you to blog. Sites are always looking for bloggers or writers for their blogs. Although the pay rate may not be satisfactory sometimes, it is a decent way to pad your bank account. If you are passionate about a topic, you can even write your own blog. There are bloggers on the internet such as johnchow.com that make over $30,000 per month. Yes, I didn’t mistype… it is per month.
You see once your blog becomes popular, you will have no problem attracting advertisers willing to pay top dollar to get placement on your site. There are also sites like associated content, that are willing to pay you for each article you write. Are you a good content writer?.. even I am willing to pay you for your article if you can write well (drop me a line).
